Justice Minister Andrew Parsons says government is still aiming to establish a fines option program in the province sometime this fall.
The program will help to address cases involving uninsured and unregistered drivers who owe tens of thousands of dollars in fines.
Parsons says they’re hoping to break the cycle, and address those owing huge amounts in fines.
Criteria will be set for eligible candidates who will be able to work off the money they owe. The initiative was announced earlier this year, and Parsons says the aim is still to implement the program this fall.
