Fire has destroyed one of the oldest businesses in Marystown. Farrell’s Clover Farm, a grocery store, went up in flames overnight in cold conditions. The store is in the centre of town on Ville Marie Drive near Queen Street and has been in business for decades.

Mayor Brian Keating says the store always stood out and was always there for the people. He says when every other store was closed because of a storm or something, Bern Farrell’s store would always be open.

The Burin Fire Department also pitched in. Firefighters contained the blaze to the one building, and there were no injuries.
