Speeding in school zones remains a serious concern.
Constable Glenn Cunningham with the RNC’s Traffic Unit says despite public awareness and signage, drivers are still speeding through school zones.
He says the speed limit in schools zones is 30 km/h, but that does not seem to bother some drivers.
Police have seen speeds as high as 80, 90 and even 100 km/h in school zones.
Constable Cunningham says they’ve heard every excuse in the book. Education Minister Brian Warr, a former RNC officer himself, says it’s of utmost concern to government.
