Memorial University is moving back online.
In a letter to students today, the school says they will return to primarily remote classes until January 31 due to the spread of the Omicron variant in the province.
The semester will now begin on January 10, to allow students and faculty travelling extra time to self-isolate upon a return to the province.
All staff who can work from home have been instructed to do so.
The school says where possible, labs, fine and performing arts programs, and practicums will take place in-person on all campuses.
The plan is to have students back on campus on January 31, however that is dependent on public health guidance.
