An airborne geophysical surveying company is conducting a high-resolution airborne geophysical survey of the Burin Peninsula.

Ottawa-based Sander Geophysics recently signed a $680,000 dollar contract with the provincial government to conduct a fixed-wing geophysical survey of the Burin Peninsula and a portion of the south coast for petroleum and mineral exploration purposes.

The Geological Survey of Newfoundland and Labrador is working on a map documenting geological resources and mineral deposits in the province.
