Parks Canada has announced that snowmobiling is now open for residents of Gros Morne National Park enclave communities until May 15.
Parks Canada says the dates are subject to change due to factors such as unfavourable snow conditions, dangerous conditions, or impacts to ecosystem.
Those seeking park passes and snowmobiling permits are asked to contact the Parks Canada Administration Building in Rocky Harbour.
Passes can be obtained from the office or mailed to residents.
They can also be obtained by contacting the town offices in Glenburnie-Birchy Head-Shoal Brook, Trout River and Woody Point.
The authority reminds residents to expect variable weather and snow conditions, and follow all safety protocols.
Parks Canada thanks snowmobilers in advance for working with staff to help protect and preserve the environment.
The Parks Canada Administration Building can be contacted at (709) 458-2417.
