Two enterprising students took advantage of the gridlock in Holyrood Harbour Main and Avondale on the weekend.

Roncalli students James Howse and Colleen Giovaninni went out last week, stocked up on the basics, and set up a stand on the main highway in Harbour Main at Black Duck Pond. The location was convenient for them and for drivers as it provided easy turn-around access.

The two Grade 12 students plan to put the money toward next year’s tuition.

James says they sold water, soda pop, chips, muffins, cookies and blueberries.

Colleen says close to 100 people stopped to purchase items.
