Eastern Health has revealed that what they’re describing as a “small number of patients” and about 15 clinical staff have tested positive for COVID-19 at Carbonear General Hospital.

The health authority states that proper contact tracing and enhanced cleaning protocols are in place. As well, they say there are sufficient staffing levels in place throughout the site.

This comes as numerous healthcare centres across the province deal with positive cases and workers in isolation. According to NAPE, over 1,000 healthcare workers are off the job due to isolation or being a confirmed positive case.
