A hockey hall of famer has passed away.
Leo Kane, who was 74, died Sunday in Gander.
Kane was regarded as one of the finest players of his day in the Newfoundland Senior Hockey League in the 60s and early 70s.
One season, he led the league with 46 goals and was a member of the first Gander Flyers team to win the Herder Memorial Trophy.
The St. john’s Capitals picked him up in 1970 for the Allen Cup.
