Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation is reporting a 4.5 per cent increase in beverage and alcohol sales for the first nine months of their fiscal year.
Between April 1 and December 31 of 2021, the Crown corporation is reporting $235 million dollars in sales.
NLC CEO Bruce Keating says sales were a little “slower” in December, but still up 1.1 per cent over the previous year.
Keating says increased sales are part of a pattern seen across the country at this time.
He attributes the results to more time, and discretionary income available to people who would normally spend their money on travel.
The provincial government is reviewing government assets, including NLC, to determine what, if anything, can be sold off.
