A lot of water is going to come down in many parts of the island over the next couple of days, especially the south, southwest and west coasts.
Environment Canada has rainfall warnings out for those areas with 60-80 mm expected tonight through tomorrow from Harbour Breton to Port aux Basques.
Slightly lesser amounts will hit the greater Corner Brook region.
Meteorologist Mike Vandenburgh says the south and east, including the Avalon Peninsula, is in for a hard day tomorrow with high winds and rain all day and evening.
Then, Mother Nature does an about-face tomorrow night.
The strong southerlies switch to strong westerlies and the temperature falls fast to below freezing, conditions which persist through Sunday.
Even with a small amount of snow, visibility will be compromised.
