One of four people charged with kidnapping a man in early December will remain in jail at least for the weekend.
33-year-old Theresa Lynn O’Grady had been released on conditions following her arrest in connection with the incident.
But it’s since been learned that the one surety, or person she needed to vouch for her bail, is no longer doing so.
In court today, the Crown and defence noted they’ve so far been unsuccessful in finding a suitable replacement.
Efforts are expected to continue until Monday, when O’Grady’s matter will be called for an update.
The three others charged in the case include 40-year-old Jeff Aylward, 38-year-old Joe Aylward, and 36-year-old Philip Pynn.
Police say all four were in a car that was pulled over on Oliver’s Pond Road late on the night of December 6.
Also in that car was a 27-year-old man, who had allegedly been abducted by the suspects about an hour earlier.
It’s believed the man was unharmed by the time police got to him.
The four suspects are charged with kidnapping and extortion.
Pynn and Aylward face additional charges of breaching previous court orders.
All four are due back in court on January 27.
