The Opposition is calling for greater support for the offshore industry.
Earlier this week, the shadow minister of energy, Lloyd Parrott, pointed to recent statistics from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers showing that while investment in the industry was expected to rise in Canada as a whole, investment in Newfoundland and Labrador is remaining flat.
Parrott says the province is falling behind others, something he says is “unacceptable”.
He is calling for more support to be directed towards the offshore industry.
