Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says power has now been restored for thousands of customers on the west coast of the island.
Officials reported late Saturday they were dealing with an outage caused by a large tree affecting a transmission line in Gros Morne National Park.
Restoration time was estimated to be around noon today.
However, in an update provided this morning, Hydro said that was delayed until at least 3 p.m. due to problems getting to the affected area where road conditions are poor.
They now say all customers from Parson’s Pond to St. Anthony have their power back.
Remaining customers on the GNP are now restored. Thank you to everyone for your patience as our crews worked. https://t.co/mn5feJg38Q
