Work is underway to repair damages left behind by flooding in the capital city following heavy rains and snow melt over the weekend.
St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says the flooding created a few problems that staff have been dealing with since Sunday.
Southside Road is now open to one lane, but other work will continue for a couple of days.
Mayor Breen says Bay Bulls Road to Cowan Avenue is one of those sections. Staff are assessing others including Portugal Cove Road since water levels have gone down, and Breen hopes the road will be re-opened soon.
The Mayor says the impacts were felt all over town and people must use caution when moving about the city today.
Breen says people, when driving and moving around, need to be careful because there may be some minor damage that hasn’t been addressed yet.
