The province’s only Conservative MP is wishing former party leader Erin O’Toole well.
Clifford Small who represents the riding of Coast of Bays – Central – Notre Dame says he believed that O’Toole had the best interests of Newfoundland and Labrador at heart.
O’Toole was booted as leader of the federal party by the Conservative caucus earlier this week in a secret ballot vote.
Candice Bergen is now serving as interim leader.
Small would not say whether he voted to support or reject O’Toole’s leadership, but says he did have a conversation with the former leader and that he knows how he felt.
In the meantime, Small says the party is moving forward.
He says the caucus is coming back together and things were light after the dust from the revolt settled.
