More rain is expected until it turns to snow later tonight.
60 to 70 mm has already fallen on the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas, with reports of 120 mm in the St. Mary’s area, with another 30 to 70 mm expected today.
Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Justin Boudreau, says they’re seeing flooding on the Burin, near St. Mary’s, and Placentia.
He says that is most likely going to get worse before this evening.
The snow is expected to come this evening, with the winds picking up slightly.
