A man from Mooring Cove has been arrested for allegedly chasing a man while holding a sword, threatening to harm him and burn his house down.

RCMP in Marystown say they were notified of the incident around 10:30 Saturday morning.

They say 35-year-old Adam Hillier was arrested a short time later without incident.

A search warrant was executed at the man’s house, during which police found a homemade sword and another homemade weapon.

Hillier has been charged with uttering threats to cause death and damage to property, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He appeared in court over the weekend and has been released from custody on conditions.
