The province has put the brakes on the controversial waste to energy plant proposal in Lewisporte.
The Department of Environment Climate Change has announced that the project has been rejected because it is “contrary to law or to a policy of the province.”
Many people in the area were highly critical of the proposal, with some protests being planned against it.
Minister Bernard Davis will be speaking to reporters virtually at 11:30 about the decision. VOCM News will be on that call.
