Funding for three airports in Newfoundland is being welcomed by those in the hard-hit sector.
A million dollars has been allotted to help airports restore routes that were impacted by the pandemic.
St. John’s International is getting $500,000, while Deer Lake and Gander are getting $250,000 each.
Stelman Flynn of the Deer Lake Airport Authority says the announcement is “fantastic news” for the airport.
He says they have formed many partnerships over the last year with the Provincial Government and the Qalipu First Nation.
They want to showcase the west coast as a tourism destination, and help bring businesses and families home.
