Meteorologists in this province now have more information on Hurricane Humberto.
It’s going to track near Bermuda tonight as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing damaging winds, waves and storm surge.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace Meteorologist Brian Walsh says Humberto will then track northeast towards Newfoundland, then make a hard right turn to pass to our south on Saturday.
Walsh says current data indicates the only effect would be showers Saturday morning with the strongest winds remaining offshore. We could see decent swells of three to five metres off the southern Avalon and Burin Peninsula.
Right now, the only effects from #Humberto to Newfoundland will be some associated showers Saturday morning, but the strongest winds should remain offshore (we could see gusty northerlies Saturday behind it). Decent swells of 3-5 metres possible Saturday off S. Avalon/Burin #nlwx https://t.co/EBPrTPo8IW
