The federal government has announced over $549,000 to help three towns upgrade their recreational spaces.
The money will be split up between Bay Bulls, Witless Bay, and Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, and is coming from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
Bay Bulls is getting over $346,000 to upgrade the energy efficiency of the Regional Lifestyle Centre. The project will include roof repairs and other green enhancements.
$120,000 is going to Witless Bay. They’ll be enhancing outdoor spaces, improving accessibility, and increasing recreational opportunities. Upgrades include new playground equipment, ball field renovations, and improvements to the trail system.
The remaining $82,000 is for Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove. There, upgrades are coming to the town’s park—including new green space and a splash pad, and upgrades to the Sarah Chafe Memorial Playground.
