The airline industry is nowhere near back to normal but we are beginning to see some signs of recovery.
Air Canada is instituting a new daily flight between Montreal and Gander and is resuming the daily flight between Goose Bay and Halifax.
Reg Wright, CEO of the Gander International Airport Authority, calls it great news and the first step toward a recovery. He expects Sun Wing and WestJet to resume service over the next while as well. PAL has remained constant at Gander.
He believes that people who had a lust for travel and exploration will wish to resume that pursuit as restrictions and requirements are lifted.
He says it’s going to take time for the industry to fully recover.
