Lewisporte RCMP are warning residents following a rash of break-ins in the area.

On February 18, two churches were broken into in the Campbellton area, the Full Gospel Tabernacle and the Faith United Church. Nothing was stolen but the properties were damaged. As well, thieves broke into a safe and stole a quantity of cash at the town office and adjoining community centre.

On Tuesday, somebody broke into the town office in Norris Arm in the wee hours and stole cash from the safe.

RCMP are warning people to secure their property, consider the use of surveillance systems, and not to store cash on site if possible.
