Russia has attacked the Ukraine from three fronts in what is being termed all-out war.
There are casualties, martial law has been declared, people are being told to remain inside and pilots with Canadian airlines are being told to avoid Ukrainian airspace.
World leaders, including Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau, have condemned the move and are promising consequences.
Canada condemns – in the strongest possible terms – Russia’s egregious attack on Ukraine. These unprovoked actions are a clear further violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and of Russia’s obligations under international law and the Charter of the UN.

Russia is the third-largest producer of oil in the world and prices have skyrocketed as a result. Brent crude has now topped $105.00 per barrel while West Texas intermediate is just pennies away from $100.00 pbl.
The Ukraine, the second-largest country geographically in Europe, has a population of about 45-million.
