Everything ended peacefully, but there were some tense moments as a man locked himself inside a room in a residence in centre city early last evening.

RNC went to the home around 7:30 and were in the process of charging the 37-year-old with uttering threats when he retreated to another room.

Officers had reason to believe that he had access to a weapon, however they were able to de-escalate the situation and take the man into custody without incident.

He is being held for a court appearance.
