March marks the 100th anniversary of Easter Seals, and Newfoundland and Labrador is joining in the celebrations.

Easter Seals provides a variety of programs to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians with a variety of abilities, including Boccia and their popular wheelchair basketball and sledge hockey programs.

Paralympian Liam Hickey went through the Easter Seals program, and Fund Development and Communications Manager Samantha Parrell says he remains a big supporter to this day.

She says participants look up to Hickey, including 2021 Easter Seals’ Ambassador Gavin Baggs, who has also been involved in the wheelchair basketball program.

Musician Brandon Bowen has been named the new Easter Seals Ambassador for 2022.
