The RNC is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the east end of St. John’s on Friday morning.

At around 9:30, officers responded to a business in the east end.

A man had entered the business with a weapon, demanding cash and cigarettes.

He had fled the scene prior to the arrival of police, in a vehicle that had recently been reported stolen.

The stolen vehicle was later involved in a single-vehicle accident in the city’s west end.

There were no reported injuries, and the investigation is ongoing.
