RCMP are investigating a stabbing incident Sunday night on board a fishing vessel docked at Bay Roberts that sent one man to hospital with stab wounds.

RCMP were called shortly before 9:00 p.m. Police learned that two men on board the vessel got into a physical altercation and one of the men was stabbed multiple times.

Both the victim and the accused were taken to hospital in Carbonear for treatment. The victim remains in hospital.

34-year old William Akpalialuk was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The investigation continues.
