A pair of overdue ice fishers are being credited with doing everything right after spending a night in the elements.
The two men, ages 52 and 78, left to go ice fishing in the area of Lady Slipper Road in Corner Brook Sunday morning, but failed to return later that afternoon.
It turns out the men got their snowmobile bogged down near a pond, but as Garry Dalrymple, assistant co-ordinator with the Bay of Islands Search and Rescue points out, the men were well prepared.
He says they made very smart decisions including having an ice fishing tent and a small propane heater. They used their small amount of propane sparingly and spread out their food rations so as to stay energized.
