Today is International Women’s Day, and a new initiative is being launched to help elevate and empower women who live in arctic areas of Canada.
We.ArcticImpact will help women from coast-to-coast in the northern portions of the country, including in Labrador.
It offers things such as innovation investment initiatives.
President and co-founder Anne Lewis says one of the organization’s first big initiatives will take place in this province.
It will be the WE Summit, taking place in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this fall during Gender Equality Week. Lewis says the event will bring leaders and trailblazers together to talk about the sectors where women are advancing and some of the challenges they face.
