A man from North West River, who was already before the courts on a number of drug and sex-related offences has been arrested again on similar charges.

49-year-old Ashley Michelin was first arrested in June of 2021 on numerous sex-related offences, which included luring a child, sexual exploitation, possession of cocaine, and trafficking.

Yesterday, Michelin was arrested again following a tip received last Friday, and is facing a similar list of charges. The charges are two counts of obtaining sexual services from a youth in exchange for drugs/money, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of trafficking cocaine.

Michelin remains in police custody and will make a court appearance today in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
