Just about all areas of the province are hunkering down this evening for what promises to be a prolonged period of very high winds, along with heavy rain and/or snowfall.
Wind and rainfall warnings have been issued for most areas of the island portion of the province, with snowfall and blowing snow warnings in place the further north you go.
For Labrador, blizzard and winter storm warnings are in place for all areas of the Big land.

Environment Canada’s Mike Vandenberg says the forecast continues to call for a very unsettling next day or so.
He says most of the heavy rain will be confined to the island while the snowfall will be reserved for the Northern Peninsula and Labrador.
Things are expected to calm down and improve late Sunday into Monday morning.
