The capital city is feeling the pain at the gas pumps when it comes to public transportation, but the mayor says there has been “no discussion” regarding a potential hike in public transit fare at this time.
Addressing the St. John’s Rotary Club during a luncheon at The Capital Hotel on Thursday, Danny Breen said ‘recovery’ should be the word of 2022 as we learn to live with COVID-19.
He says the city projects an extra $1.3 million in fuel costs by the end of the year, including Metrobus. Breen says it’s challenging for individuals, businesses and municipalities.
