A free tax-help program to assist those in need in this province is reminding the public to ensure they receive all benefits and credits they may be entitled to.

Last year, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program assisted more than 9,000 residents across the province but says many benefits were left unclaimed.

Free clinics and assistance are available virtually by videoconference, phone, and in some cases, in-person consultation.

The program is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency and community organization volunteers.
