Members of the local Muslim community are shocked after an egging incident at the Mosque in St. John’s earlier this week.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man was in the Masjid-an-Noor Mosque after prayer had ended, when he heard a loud bang on the window of the place of worship.

Head of the Newfoundland and Labrador Muslim Association, Dr. Syed Mansoor Pirzada, says the man saw three people leaving the scene.

The incident was caught on security camera.

Pirzada says the video showed two men and one woman attempting to gain access through the front door, but they were unsuccessful. The trio then threw garbage at the front door, before throwing eggs and garbage at the window of the mosque, before fleeing the scene. Luckily, says Pirzada, there was no damage. He believes the incident was premeditated.

The video has been turned over to RNC for investigation.
