Newfoundland and Labrador will escape post-tropical storm Humberto with minimal residual effects today and tomorrow.
The storm is passing south of the island but will remain well offshore according to the Gander Weather Office.
Meteorologist David Neal says rain will begin on the southern Avalon around suppertime, and move into metro two or three hours later.
He says there will be elevated swells in some areas, particularly the southern Avalon and Burin Peninsula. Neal says the swells won’t be significant but to be careful around the coastline.
Because of the swells, Marine Atlantic ferries will not cross tonight but hope to resume tomorrow.
