The first provincial varsity basketball tournament in three years is kicking off on Thursday.
The School Sports NL 4A Girls Basketball provincials, which start Thursday and run until Sunday, are the first in the sport since the 2019/2020 school year.
The tournament is being played at Gonzaga High and will host seven other teams. All of those teams are from the metro region, with the exception of Corner Brook Regional High.
