The Sierra Club of Canada Foundation is responding to recent comments from the federal NDP regarding the proposed Bay du Nord project.

The federal party, which just entered an agreement with the governing Liberals, has indicated that the Liberal government will have a tough time justifying the approval of the offshore oil project.

Local Sierra Club campaigner Heather Elliott says Bay du Nord is impossible to justify from a climate and environmental perspective.

She calls it incompatible with climate targets and says it is not part of a just transition.
