Food First NL is opening applications for its Community Food Program Support Fund.
The money from the fund goes to community food programs to use for direct food and logistic operating costs.
The program, originally designed to provide quick assistance during the pandemic, is now focusing on supporting grassroots food programs in the province to combat the rising cost of living and food insecurity.
The provincial government has given the program $250,000 that will be administered by the non-profit. Applicants can receive up to $4,000 dollars on the island, or $8,000 in Labrador.
The deadline to apply is April 14.
