Students across the province will be joining the Global Climate Strike next Friday.
One of the largest events will be in St. John’s, starting at Memorial University.
Alice Ferguson O’Brien of Holy Heart High School is among the participants asking federal politicians to take “drastic action’ to address what she calls the climate crisis facing the planet.
This will be the fourth march of its kind in the capital city area. She says they were pleased with the turnout at previous events.
She says it showed that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are ready for action, even though we’re an oil and gas producing province.
The event will take place on Friday, September 27th, starting at MUN at 11:00 a.m. and walking to Confederation Building.
