Talks have broken off between NAPE and Choices for Youth.
The nine workers at The Lilly, a 14-unit congregate living facility operated by Choices for Youth officially went on strike on March 15.
NAPE, who represents the workers, says they’ve come to the table for the past year to reach a deal, but the employer refuses to take the necessary steps. They say talks broke off after the employer rejected the latest options from the union last night.
NAPE is also accusing Choices of Youth of intimidation, saying they issued Record of Employment papers to each of the striking workers.
The union says they will strike for as long as it takes to get a “fair deal”.
Meanwhile, Choices for Youth say they are still working towards getting a deal and settling the ongoing job action. They say they are committed to reaching an agreement.
