The Opposition is asking that the provincial budget, due this Thursday, include a real cost of living plan.
Opposition Finance critic Tony Wakeham says another increase in home heating fuel was thrust upon Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, but a cost of living plan announced last month “did nothing to address any of the skyrocketing fuel prices.”
He says this week’s budget is a chance for the provincial government to fix their mistakes and announce “a real cost of living plan.”
He wants to see money put back into people’s pockets through reductions in taxes and fees.
