Changes to medical education programs announced in the 2022 budget are focused on building a comprehensive health faculty, according to the Education Minister.
Merging the faculties of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and others, along with increasing the current number of seats in the Faculty of Nursing, are all a part of that plan, says Minister Tom Osborne.
He says MUN has one of the best medical schools in the country, and they want to build on what he calls the “very, very solid name that we have nationally and internationally.”
He says people seek out MUN specifically for its medical school and these moves will make the school stronger.
