Western Health says a physician shortage at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders has resulted in the set-up of a virtual ER to help support on-site services.

The physician shortage is expected to continue over the next five weeks.

Western Health says on-site emergency services will be supported through a virtual ER assessment over a significant portion of the next few weeks up to May 13.

A health care provider will be available to support patient care on-site and assist with virtual care as needed.
