The Opposition grilled government Monday in the House of Assembly on measures to help Newfoundlanders and Labradorians with the rising cost of living, leading to a lively exchange between Education Minister Tom Osborne and Opposition Finance critic, Tony Wakeham.
It started with Minister Osborne talking about the one time benefit for income support, asking Wakeham if he would have taken that away, saying “what would you have done?”
Wakeham fired back, stating he will be “too happy” when the PCs are back in power so he can tell the Liberals what they would do.
That drew a fiery response from Osborne, who countered that everyone saw what the PCs did while in power, which is part of the reason why he left that party and chose to go with the Liberals.
