A new, centralized radio communications system is on the horizon for first responders in the province, which is something the RCMP are looking forward to.
Sergeant Danny Williams, officer in charge of emergency management and search and rescue, says the new system has been in development for some time and they are pleased with it.
He says communication is paramount and always comes up as an area for improvement. Wiliams states that linking all emergency responders together is good as they all work together on most calls they go to.
