A graduate of Booth Memorial High in St. John’s has been selected in the university draft by the Growlers basketball team.
Cole Long, a 6’7″ guard, started 16 contests for the MUN Seahawks during his senior year in 2021-22 and averaged 19.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
On October 15 against the Saint Mary’s Huskies, Long enjoyed a career night with 37 points and 20 rebounds in an 83-69 victory.
With their second selection, the Growlers took Marcel Bourcier from the Trinity Western University Spartans.
The Canadian Elite Basketball League begins play out of the Field House in June.
