RCMP in Whitbourne and Harbour Grace recently took two speeders off the road, both of whom more than doubled the posted speed limits.
The first person was nabbed in Whitbourne on Monday. The novice driver was caught going 130 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The man also had an illegal tint and an illegal exhaust. He was ticketed for speeding and other traffic offences, as well as having his license suspended and vehicle seized.
Then on Tuesday, police in Harbour Grace caught an 18-year-old driving at 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone that was soon going to turn into a 30 km/h school zone near St. Francis School.
The man was ticketed for speeding, had his license suspended and vehicle impounded.
