A capital city high school closed due to declining enrolment is being transformed into a new seniors complex, with a twist.
Bishops Gardens Seniors Living is a concept of Fort Amherst Properties Inc, formerly Pennecon Realty.
It will see the revitalization of the former school building into what is being called a “state-of-the-art” seniors healthcare campus, to help older adults “age-in-place” and allow residents to receive required support.
The campus will include the Bishops Gardens Personal Care home—set to open in the fall of 2020—with 82 suites, chef-inspired meals and a landscaped greenspace.
Bishops Day Club will be a drop-in day service for up to 80 participants in the old gymnasium. It will be the first private adult day program in the capital city and will feature an outpatient gerontology clinic.
Plans are also underway for Booth Memorial, which will revealed at a later date.
